Your Skin Concerns:
I have cellulite
Cause: This is a common condition with hormones, age, genetics, and anatomy all playing a role.
Laser Solution: There is no cure for cellulite, but Cellulaze is an FDA approved laser treatment that can improve the appearance of cellulite and your skin’s texture.
I have stretch marks
Cause: Stretch marks are a tear in the dermis of the skin. They are the result of rapid growth during adolescence, weight gain, and/or pregnancy.
Laser Solution: Laser treatments can improve the appearance of some stretch marks. Stretch marks are the most challenging of all skin issues we treat.
My skin is rough and dull
Cause: This is a common condition caused by a number of health and environmental factors.
BBL or Laser Solution: BBL and laser treatments, like Halo™, NanoLaser Peel, MicroLaser peel, ProFractional and Contour TRL, can immensely improve your skin’s texture and tone, making it look healthy, luminous, and rejuvenated.
I have acne scars or a scar from an injury or surgery
Cause: Scars can result from injuries, surgery, or acne.
Laser Solution: Lasers are very effective at reducing the appearance of scars. Our surgeons are very experienced in laser scar treatment and laser assisted drug delivery for scars. We have a laser that can remove excess tissue in cases of hypertrophic or keloid scars and another laser than can stimulate collagen production and reshape scars that are atrophic or thin. Various medications can applied immediately after the laser treatment for better penetration and further improvement in your scars.
I have acne
Cause: Acne is usually a result of excessive oil production, hormones, medications, diet and stress. Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes) are the anaerobic bacteria that cause acne. Moderate to severe acne can cause permanent scarring, so it’s important to treat active acne and keep it under control.
BBL Solution: While acne requires a multifaceted treatment plan, BBL
treatments are very effective at reducing the frequency and severity of breakouts, which can prevent permanent scarring.
I have unwanted hair on my face and/or body
Cause: The amount of hair you have on your face and body is genetic.
BBL Solution: Forever Bare BBL uses intense pulsating beams of light to cause a permanent reduction of unwanted hair. The laser beam targets pigment in individual hair follicles to inhibit future hair growth. This treatment is ideally suited for people with light skin and dark hair. It can be performed on almost any part of the body but is usually done on the face, legs, back, arms, and/or bikini area.
I have lines and wrinkles, but I would rather avoid Botox or other toxins and fillers
Cause: Lines and wrinkles are a natural part of the aging process and are the result of sun damage, age muscle movement and genetics. People with thinner skin tend to have more wrinkles, and those with thick skin, less.
BBL or Laser Solution: If you have fine lines and wrinkles, we can successfully treat you with BBL, Halo or other laser treatment in the office to help smooth the skin and stimulate natural collagen production for gradual improvement over the months following the treatments. If your lines are course and deep, you many need a more aggressive laser treatment with our ProFractional or with our fully ablative laser, the Contour TRL. These lasers have more downtime associated with them, but are the only devices that work on deeper lines.
I have age spots on my hands and legs
Cause: These spots appear due to sun damage.
BBL Solution: Just as BBL lightens freckles and other dark spots on the face, neck, or chest, they can also diminish age or liver spots on the hands and legs. We can also smooth fine lines and wrinkles on your hands, helping them to look years younger.
I have facial spider veins / broken blood vessels / vascular lesions on my face
Cause: These vessels can be caused by genetics, sun exposure, or possibly even internal health.
BBL Solution: Broad based light or BBL emits pulses of light energy that gently heat the upper layers of the skin. Within the skin, the light energy is absorbed by the fine, unwanted blood vessels. The heat damages the unwanted vessel(s) and allows your own cells to take it away.
I have large pores
Cause: Large pores are the result of genetics and age. People who have skin that is naturally oily and thick tend to have larger pores. The oil and dirt collect in the skin and cause the pores to swell or expand. As people get older, sun damage and elasticity issues can also cause the pores to dilate.
Laser Solution: Halo laser treatment is the only treatment available to decrease pore size by 20-60%.
I have sun damage
Cause: Even if you are vigilant about your sunblock, you still have sun or UV damage to your skin just by virtue of being outdoors repeatedly over time.
BBL or Laser Solution: BBL and Lasers are a very effective way of addressing all types of sun damage, from brown spots to rosacea and broken blood vessels and lines and wrinkles. These devices will lighten and smooth your skin for a younger, healthier appearance. The type of treatment that will give you the best result will be determined at your consultation and depends on your skin type and extent of sun damage.
I have red spots or rosacea on my skin
Cause: Red spots and rosacea can be genetic or the result of sun damage.
BBL Solution: Broad based light or BBL emits pulses of light energy that gently heat the upper layers of the skin. Within the skin, the light energy is absorbed by the fine, unwanted blood vessels that cause rosacea and redness. Although there is no cure for rosacea, BBL is the closet treatment we have to a cure, so you can go through life with normal, healthy looking skin.
I have dark spots, freckles, hyperpigmentation, or melasma on my skin (face, neck, chest, etc.)
Cause: These spots can be genetic, a result of aging or hormonal fluctuations or from sun damage.
BBL or Laser Solution: BBL and laser treatments offer the best technology for lightening freckles, dark spots, melisma and pigmentation issues on the skin, whether on the face, neck, chest, hands, or elsewhere. The light of the laser and broad based light devices target only the areas of skin that need to be treated, often with no downtime.

Forever Young BBL Overview
Halo Hybrid Fractional Laser
This laser is the world’s first hybrid fractional laser, which means it can be used for ablative or non-ablative treatments. Ablative treatments remove the top layer of skin and allow for faster results but with longer downtime. Non-ablative treatments leave the top layer of skin intact for a milder treatment with less downtime. Having both of these possibilities in one device gives us a great deal of flexibility.
This laser is also “fractional,” which means it specifically pinpoints only the skin that needs to be treated, while leaving the surrounding skin intact. This allows your skin to heal faster. It’s an excellent device for clearing sun damage, dark spots, and age spots, allowing us to customize your treatment in an unprecedented way.
NanoLaser Peel and MicroLaser Peel
These lasers remove a thin layer of damaged skin cells, revealing the newer, healthier layer of skin underneath. They do not penetrate deeply, so they are well-tolerated with virtually no downtime required. They work great on dull skin, fine lines, scars, actinic keratoses, sun damage, freckles, dark spots, and superficial hyperpigmentation. After treatments, your skin will have a healthy glow and smooth texture. Some patients do well with one treatment, but you may require a few appointments every 4-8 weeks for a period of time.
Forever Young BBL Broadband Light
This phototherapy device requires zero downtime and is especially good for vascular lesions / facial spider veins / broken blood vessels, as well as acne, uneven skin texture, brown and red spots (including freckles), and mild skin laxity. The laser light heats the outer skin layers, stimulating collagen formation. It tightens, lightens, and heals the skin, often without the need for a topical anesthetic. Depending on your situation, you may require several treatments.
Forever Bare BBL Broadband Light
This treatment is designed for rapid hair reduction using state-of-the-art phototherapy technology. Pulses of light energy penetrate the skin, destroying hair follicles by targeting the hair’s pigment. Unlike other hair removal methods, large areas of unwanted hair can be removed simultaneously. Since hair can only be removed in a certain stage of its growth, however, and not all of your hair is in that stage at the same time, several treatments are usually required every 4-8 weeks.
Contour TRL
This skin resurfacing laser dramatically improves the skin by reducing fine lines and wrinkles and improves tone and texture. The laser removes the top layers of the skin at a depth that we determine based on our examination of your skin and what you wish to accomplish. For deep treatments, we use a local anesthetic to make it more comfortable. Besides wrinkles, this laser works well on scars, actinic keratoses, and sun damage. It also stimulates collagen production over the 4-6 months following your treatments for a firmer, younger look.
Sciton Pro-Fractional XC
This laser resurfaces the skin with little downtime. Like many of our other lasers, it is fractional – targeting only the skin that needs to be treated and protecting the surrounding skin. Some patients will see enough results from one treatment, while others will need several treatments. This laser also stimulates your skin to create new collagen for 4-6 months, which will help your skin look younger and firmer. It’s our go to treatment for acne scars.
Laser Treatment Q&A
What are the risks of laser treatments?
Laser treatments carry few risks. We will discuss all risks with you, but most of these treatments are minimally invasive and very safe for most patients.
How many laser or BBL treatments will I need?
This will depend on what skin concerns are being addressed. We will discuss all of this at your consultation, where a treatment plan will be designed based on your concerns, budget and available downtime.
Will I be able to see the results of my laser treatment immediately?
This depends on the condition that has been treated and the type of laser used. The results are immediate for some patients.
Will I see the doctor after my treatment to make sure I’m healing properly?
We will provide you with full after-care instructions and skin care products to help your skin heal quickly after each laser procedure. Follow-up appointments are based on the type of treatment performed and maintenance treatments may be needed, especially to improve texture and dull skin – conditions that are likely to return after a period of time. Of course, we are always here to answer any questions you have.
What is the recovery period like after a laser treatment?
Recovery from laser treatments is generally easy and fast. Your skin will be sensitive to the sun for a period of time, so it’s very important to wear sunscreen. You might be given an ointment to help your skin heal faster, but the healing period usually lasts only a few days. In most cases, you can go right back to your normal activities and begin to wear makeup quickly to cover any redness. If you undergo full facial deep resurfacing, your downtime will be longer but the results will be worth it!
What will I look like after my laser treatment?
This varies based on the type of laser used, so we will tell you what to expect. Many lasers leave the skin looking and feeling much like a mild sunburn for a few hours to days. In some cases, the skin might peel or swell a bit after a treatment.
How much time do I have to take off from work after a laser treatment?
You might not need to take any time off from work at all. Others might need 3-4 days or more. We will discuss this with you during your consultation and will let you know how much, if any, downtime you can expect.
Where will my laser treatment be performed?
Since most laser and light treatments are non-invasive, we perform those procedures in our office. Full facial deep resurfacing is often performed in the operating room under anesthesia if combined with other surgical procedures.
How is laser treatment done?
Laser procedures require no incisions. Generally, we clean your skin, apply a topical numbing cream or local anesthetic, and protect your eyes from the laser light. A hand piece is applied to the treatment area. In the majority of cases, the feeling is well-tolerated and is much like a rubber band snapping against the skin.
Am I a good candidate for laser treatments?
The only way to tell if you’re a good candidate for a laser treatment is through a consultation in our offices. We will listen to your concerns about the appearance of your skin or unwanted hair and will conduct an examination. We can then advise you what can be done to help your skin look better. If you wish to remove unwanted hair, we can tell you how many treatments we expect you will need.
