Healing is a progressive process. We like to think of downtime in two parts, surgical downtime and social downtime. Stitches will be removed at one week, and despite some bruising and swelling, you will be able to go outdoors with a hat and sunscreen. For 2 weeks, your face may appear bruised, swollen, numb and tight. It takes 6-8 weeks before you will be completely healed, and we suggest that you don't plan any big social events during this time. Healing cannot be rushed.
