Figure Out What You Want
You don’t need to know exactly what you want before your breast augmentation consultation, but it can be helpful to have a general idea of what “look” you are going for. Spend a little time in front of the mirror and ask yourself these questions to get a better idea of what you hope to achieve.
- Am I happy with my breast shape?
- Do I want to increase size, enhance shape, add lift, or all three?
- Do I want a natural look, an augmented look or something in-between? We call the in-between the Restora Austin “mystery” look. Maybe she did, maybe she didn’t.
- Do I want a subtle or dramatic size change?
We find it helpful if you bring photos of breasts you like to your consultation. This gives our surgeons insight into what your goals are and helps us provide the best options to achieve your desired look. It also helps us set realistic expectations, as your natural breast-print (unique features of your breasts) will impact the final result and what we’re able to achieve.
Do a Little Research
How much do know about breast augmentation? It’s helpful to learn a bit more about the procedure before your consultation. We want your consultation to be as informative as possible, so doing a little homework beforehand helps you think of great questions to ask us. Write Down Questions
As you prepare for your consultation, you’ll likely have questions. Write them down, even if you’re certain you’ll remember. The excitement of a consultation causes many women to forget their questions. Make a list and bring it along so you’re sure to remember everything you wanted to ask.
Come Prepared
Bring these things along when you come in for your consultation.
- A friend or significant other– We’ll be discussing a lot and it helps sometimes to have two sets of ears. If you would rather come alone, that’s fine too, but bring a pen and paper to write down the important stuff.
- Medications and Supplements– We need to know what medications, supplements, and herbal remedies you’re using. Bring a list or bring the bottles along.
- Medical History– We’ll ask you some questions about your medical history. Bring along relevant information.
- Your “like” photos
So you’re not surprised, we will be performing a detailed breast examination during the consultation. After the exam, you will be able to “test drive” or try on different size implants to see which ones you like best. Once your surgery is set and you’ve narrowed down the size you like, Vectra 3D computer imaging will be performed so you can see your simulated result.
